thanks for the kind words azza :) much appreciated. how have everyone's holidays begun? basking in sun, soaking up the rays and drinking pina coladas or sitting in front of student connect clicking refresh every three minutes waiting for those looming results to come forth from the darkness? i know most of my results based on the assignments i got back from grad office- i passed with colours, whether they were flying or not remains to be seen :) hey etta, let me know how bowling went!!! hope that you all did well in your exams, ours was 100% so that was a bit nuts but i'm pretty sure med students have them and they are a lil more ominous than clive's "pie" questions. christmas wishes if i get lazy like i usually do and don't check my blogs anymore, may all your jingly bell wishes come true xxxxx *<<<<- (that was a tree if you're wondering ;) )

okay so just for anyone who happened to be wondering (which you are surely not) this is my life now, i do school work, house work, go to work, complain about doing all three of these things, see my best friend after she is doing any one of these things and we are both tired and stressed out, have weekends to breathe and get mad that i can't seem to be doing much more than that!

hopefully next year it will get better, but i am NOT counting on it!!! bring on the summer holidays.

ooohhhh in exciting news we bought a new washing machine!!! it spins and washes and makes things clean and never, ever stops, i think it is becoming an addiction for me. oh how i love the new little washing machine!

I hope you are all well and enjoying your wonderful lives that are so busy you can't post anything to this blog! (yes yes I know I'm not any better). Just in case you're interested, my life is just dandy thank you, and even more so because my 21st birthday is coming up! For the sake of reuniting the minions, you guys are all welcome to come along to my bash on September 30, just e-mail me and I'll send you details. Then again you're probably all busy with your crazy diplomas and honours degrees and stuff ... man it feels slack to still be doing 2nd-year classes! :-P

Kat i am very happy for your liscence getting ways, i am in the process of learning atm after having a dodgy knee preventing me from learning and then just general procrastination on my behalf! good work!
Now for the important business - The amazing race - its very lovely that uchenna (how do u spell that!?) and joyce won because now they can have a baby and all HOWEVER rob must have been SOOOOOOOOOoo angry that the pilot on the flight to the usa let them on after they had closed the flight! sheesh i would have been kicking up a right royal stink! but its still nice for them

silly ozzy i see you nearly every day still ;)- hows praccy? & you other guys, how is stuff?

i've been catching up on my weekly dose of the amazing race and really hope that the brothers win, though i have a feeling that the gods don't want that to happen- flat tyres? come on. hahah

all of a sudden i find myself up to my elbows in lesson planning for 8s, 9s and 10s, god they're feral some of them but they're mostly good. i think it'll be ok once i get settled in to teaching, i took a year 11 class last week and i don't think they were too impressed that a 22 year old was teaching them exam revision. but who cares it's not my fault they're unenthusiastic sods. my mentor teacher is really cool if not a little uninvolved but mostly ok. we're having a fete on friday where the kids have stalls and stuff and get to dress up, so that's pretty fun, dress like a star---hmmmm xtina aguilera- maybe a lil too risque for teacher type person.

anyways hope you are all doing just fine whatever you peeps are up to, who has exams, not me and etta :)

hello guys we are so bad at posting on this side it is just past funny. the most ironic thing is that even after posting here everyone is probably equally as bad at checking the thing ( i know i certainly am) an so there won't be any further posts for at least another two months.

so this is me at the moment...

i am sitting at the computer (obviously) with hair that is a cross between medusa and when you put your hands on one of those electrostatic machines as i have just taken it out and now my hair hurts. it is an interesting concept, but i assure you it is true. i don't have a headache but when you move the hair around on your head it hurts. you may be able to hear it in the background yelping little yelps of pain......

i have just decided that i didn't have as much homework as i first thought (which always tends to be the case with me) and as i am not sleepy yet seeing as i had a nanna nap this arvo so that i could do all my homework which has miraculously disappeared i have a spot of time on my hands. actually maybe i should go off and play the sims...

First off, let me say HAPPY BIRTHDAY KAT! for yesterday. Hope you had an awesome day. And don't worry, I'm sure you're still very young at heart :-P

Meanwhile I've become hooked on The Amazing Race, and I blame you guys! (plus my sister, who also watches it religiously ...) Was I the only one to be really disappointed that the old couple lost last week -- I mean sure, it was kinda inevitable, but it would still have been cool if they'd won. And what was the deal this week with those old cars? I thought the race was about the teams' skill and ability to work together, not whether or not they chose a dodgy car.

I haven't been watching too many other TV shows lately ... for instance My Restaurant Rules (which, I'm ashamed to say, I was hooked on last year) was soooo much cooler with Curtis Stone. But can I admit that I think Battlestar Galactica seems pretty interesting?

Hello my little refugees, i hope your holidays are going lovely and we arent all stir crazy from the holidays! Anyway i have tried to comment and make a post but blogger has not been letting me log in! EVIL but it seems now all is well.
Has anyone else been hit with a drastic increase in their hecs (or help or whatever)? mine has gone up a grand per semester! and shishkababs thats a hell of an increase. So i shall be returning to youdub this year and paying greatly for it (i went with Honours in anthropology).

OH and YAY for the Amazing race being back on so soon. My thoughts so far: i like the wrestling guy because he seems fun but his wife is a cow. and how evil is that guy who was wearing yellow? i saw on entertainment tonight (the source of all good information) that after the show they sent him to doctor phil!

Anywho hope you all are well and managed to track down some tickets for the big day out (if not challenge stadium still has a few!)

So hey how is everyone? This year I have turned into the biggest baddest boringest fuddyduddy that EVER existed! Even my 13 year old sister thinks I am uncool, but what am I saying every 13 year old thinks that no one except their friends are cool. Mind you she also won't believe that converse sneaker shoe thingies were once very cool so that just proves that she is wack and her teeny bopper opinion accounts for nothing. The thing that assures me of my uncool status is the fact that my mother told me that I don't "respect myself" forgive her, she has a funny way of putting things, because I my clothes are simply not fashionable enough to wear as a teacher????? Now that is seriously uncool!

How is everyone else's year so far?

Random observation: I saw a serious bogan at Adventure world last Sunday, 38 degrees and he is wearing black shirt, black jeans, black scruffy shoes. If only he had been going down a waterslide at the time, I am sure that would be the epitomy of boganism.

well, i got into education so i'll definitely be gracing the uwa campus again this year. hopefully i'll see my lil cyborgs around :)

how was everyones christmases and new years? mine were very low-key events, just doing the family thing over christmas and going to the gbt for new years. it was fairly empty but we managed to have a good time anyway. at least now we can stop thinking about buying gifts!!!

in other news i have my first driving lesson on monday morning so wish me luck.

So I have finished my present shopping for this year (yay! finally!). And I managed to do so without being trampled on by all the other people who were gift-buying on Christmas Eve, or the mobs of men in red costumes who always seem to be, well, everywhere. Yes, I know, by doing this I was contributing to the transformation of Christmas from religious holiday to commercial event, but still. It's nice when you leave things to the last minute but manage to get them done properly in time ...

I suppose I should take this opportunity to say to y'all, hope you're having a very merry Christmas, and had a happy Hannukah, and will have a happy New Year, and all the rest. And I hope your friends & families are all more harmonious around this time of year, after all that kind of thing is what Christmas is supposed to be about ... isn't it?

as much as i hate to say it, and as much ridicule as i may receive for it, i am not a summer person. yes yes 27 degree days with a sea breeze are lovely but once it hits 35 and there's an easterly blustering about, there's nothing i can do to keep cool. we have aircon but i just cannot get to a comfortable temperature, i can wear next to nothing and still be melting. maybe it's because i'm english but in my defense i left england when i was 6 and should be used to the sun by now... curses on these 38 degree days! curses i say. i want one of those evaporating air con thinggies for my room but they're like $150, which i could afford if i really really wanted to but i need a hair cut and christmas is just a week away and i still have gifts to buy for friends. since when did people buy presents for friends i never did this until i started uni, then i made friends with more people than i knew what to do with, so how do you know who to buy for? i don't want to buy for people who i won't see because they won't get their gifts until february when uni starts again, and i don't want to assume that i should non-gift a certain person only to find that they bought me something. stresses! i agree with orietta, christmas is too commercial, people should be happy they're alive not concerned about what's under the tree. with that, if i don't end up near the net for a few days i hope you all have a wonderful christmas and new years filled with tasty dinners, mince pies and plenty of custard!

I've been a tad busy lately, with work and, er, other stuff, so I've only just gotten started on my promise to change stuff. First has been to link to everyone's blogs ... I wasn't sure whether to create a separate list or mush it in with the profile links, which is what I've done. If you've any suggestions, do let me know :-)

I should point out that I made the new list manually, so if any of you change your display name or blog title, it will not update automatically; you'll have to tell me about it.

I was going to start ranting, but I'd better not, although I will say that I'm happy on account of receiving free alcohol from my job last week, as well as receiving a nice letter of invitation to honours (yay me!). So in case anyone was wondering, things are going reasonably well in Hourann-land.

Oh my god every body we can all breathe a sigh of relief now because the results are out!!!!!!!!!! okay even if anyone did badly, you can still breathe out because at least you know exactly how badly and can move onto step two which is to figure out how to fix the badness... but i am sure that everyone did GREAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i am so excited and because it means i have officially finished my degree yay oh yay oh yay!!!!! is anyone else celebrating this fact? you'd all better be!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i don't know about any of you guys but i have been checking the results like every day and for the last few days like 3 or 4 times a day, it was getting a bit obsessive. now i just don't know what to do with all my free time!!!!!!

as an aside, i think i found a wikked picture to put on our blog. i am in the process of obtaining permission to use it because my friend made it - but it was from photos taken at my house!

So today i spent a good 2-3 hours absorbing cosmo and cleo. After 3 reads (one for looking at pictures, one for playing the shopping game and one for actually reading articles) one of them (frankly i can never remember which is which) had an article on the sims and how girls play it and its not just for nerds! Once something hits those mags you know they cool!

As promised, now that exams are over and I'm less busy (ha! lies, I tell you!) ... I will now devote some time to making this blog more, er, cool. However, I figure it might be nice of me to get some of your opinions before doing so.

One possibility is changing the template, although many of you seemed quite impressed by this one ...? Anyway I'm quite happy to construct a new one from stratch, if of course y'all want that. If so, I'll need some idea of what you want, perhaps examples of Web sites you think look cool and that I should emulate.

Some other, less major changes that might be worthwhile are ...

adding links to everyone's blogs
a list of links to what we agree to be cool sites -- if we can in fact agree on that
pictures? I'm not sure of what, but we're currently devoid of pictures, so maybe something would be good
changes to the "about this blog" text, suggestions welcome

does anyone else here get really excited about thursday night television. i'm sure i remember some of you being reality t.v. freaks like myself. and i know kaet watches amazing race. and indeed thursdays are non-stop entertainment! i am so excited about the amazing race even though my two favourite teams- the two old people and the war veteran and his daughter- have been eliminated but how sweet was it when that damned midgit got booted last night?, i breathed a healthy sigh of relief because i simply couldn't stand those two!! i wanted to scream at midgit and tell her to go back to her mini-house and sit on her mini chair and eat mini food. ugh! and how rude is colin?!?!?! ugh! but that's not all, extreme makeover was awesome too, how the two freaks got remodeled and fell in love, awwwwwwwww. she turned out a hottie and well he was still slightly munted but at least they gave him a hair cut and a shave. and last but not least the apprentice and how joyous it was for stacy to be fired, she just didn't shut up and she was also a midgit, and i have no time for small people, hahahah, sorry...but i don't think any of you are small. my only worry is that i will have to work on thursday nights and i might miss some of my quality thursday night viewing- i can just imagine what tama would be saying about our obsessiveness and television and he'd say something like "how about read a book?" or whatever but the truth is he loves buffy and i think we have a right to love the amazing race just as much.

Hrm, I'm still recovering from exams, and I should be sleeping, but I'm not. So I think I'll randomly rant on this blog instead.

Does anyone else think it was odd that the "these are the changes to HECS next year" letter we all got last week was signed by the Vice-Chancellor? (actually you guys are all finishing, so you probably didn't get it, but anyway). I've never received anything signed by the VC ... ever! The HECS letters are normally all signed by that bloke Harvey from Student Admin. So I thought that was a rather momentous occasion, even though it was just a cover letter for a government brochure.

Also I found out that Google is beta-ing a search engine for academic articles ... oh how I wish that'd been out when we were doing webliographies! Unlike normal Google this site doesn't return crazy neo-con links when you type in "pornography", which was my essay topic :-)

By the way, you may have noticed my display name is now different ... in case you're wondering, yes this is still crazy Aaron, no I have not been abducted by aliens (well not recently), but I have finally decided to drag my Blogger profile into line with what I use on every other site. So now you know.

Well yesterday was my last exam. YAY and by last clearly it also implies it was my first however not only was it my last exam for the semester but possibly my last ever, so yes i guess it was more my last then my first.

I have only actually just made it home from my last exam after one or two celebratory drinks, unfortunatley i was working tonight and cant be assed getting ready to go out again.

So now i am considering what to do with myself. clearly despite finishing my degree i am not actually qualified to do anything. As i see it i have 3 options (well 4 but i dont like option 4 that much) they are in no particular order:
1. Dip ed
2. Post grad law
3. Honours in anthrop
4. honours in english
any suggestions? im confused
or i was thinking if i do some form of honours would i be able to overload and do law part-time for the first year? to many thoughts with too little sleep

Also congrats to everyone for finishing their degree, or surviving another year

Woohoo! I am now free of the horrors of exams for another semester. Alas I am not graduating, which means it starts all over again in six months ...

oh yay oh yay oh yay!

now i just have to wait to the 17th of dec to see if i got into the dip ed!

i will promise to write more stuff now - that's if the uni doesn't take away my internet connection...

hehehehehehehe

oh and guess what i have a new toy! it's called the "Urbz" of course it's not as cool as the sims, but it is for ps2 which is the only thing i have that will run any simmy things and its set, funnily enough in the urban ghettos.... anyway the soundtrack is super dooper because its all the black eyed peas (which you would find in the urban section of sanity, in case y'all were wondering) and they sing in simmy voices which my flatmate thinks is silly because if they bought the rights to the music, they could have afforded the words aswell, but i think it is all part of the simmy feel. and of course the urbz is way way way way WAY more commercialised the whole game is about buying things in order to get the right image and rep and doing all the essential things like sleeping are sidelined and take very little time.... i won't analyse this i think its pretty overt... but it pisses me off a bit i kind of like the old naive sims.. buy hey i am not complaining because my friend bought it for me as a present so yeah and i am still hooked.......

okz i promise i will get around to organising cranium night now. prolly not this weekend, not next weekend but the weekend after okz?

yes w00t! i just got out of my final exam. it was three hours, i finished it in one, go figure. so here i am in the multimedia lab blogging away, i can't help myself! i'm part of four blogs now! maybe it shouldn't be WE ARE ALL CYBORGS but instead, we are all NERDS!! is anyone else graduating arts in march? i went to the grad page and we have to wear a blue hood- blue? how boring, i was hoping for cyan or at least magenta, maybe the boys would complain about wearing pink?!?!? wow i'm so excited about graduating, even though it's 4 months away. but three years has gone by so quickly. has anyone read the acrobat thing about all the "offers" available, like dvd's, photos, framing etc etc, it's a pretty big deal- i'd better start saving! ($$$) though i'm not sure about the dvd, that could be very long and boring, then again, with a bit of editing i could make my own version of the graduation and uhm, it'd be mediatastic...dubb in a bit of music, eminem rap style...

Good afternoon and welcome aboard New Blog Airways, we trust you will have a pleasant and entertaining time while you're with us :-)

So this is the best I could rustle up over the weekend when I really should be studying (hmmm ...). I acknowledge that the template is a tad iffy, since I chose it in much haste. I will get around to creating an all-new template just for us, but for now I am a bit preoccupied with exams (I have five of them!). So unless any of you want to volunteer, you'll have to wait about a fortnight.

Also on the iffy side is the name ... "cyborgminions.blogspot.com" is the best I could think of in a hurry, particularly after reading Katio ("YOU ARE ALL CYBORGS WHETHER YOU LIKE IT OR NOT") and Kat ("later my minions"). Nobody has presented anything better, so if you have any suggestions, I'm open ...!

Any suggestions, ideas for change, etc., just let me know. If it's a big change it'll have to wait, but anything minor (e.g. if you guys want admin rights) and I will, er, try to guarantee service with a smile :-)
